Tobacco industry conflicts of interest in academic literature

A study of conflict of interest declarations in academic literature has found that declarations of tobacco industry funding may often be incomplete or absent. McDonald et al conclude that conflict of interest guidelines in academic literature need to be more robust to ensure transparency from tobacco industry influence.
