A BMJ investigation has revealed that US medical education provider, Medscape, received funding from Philip Morris International for a series of smoking cessation courses for health professionals. The courses have since been removed. The World Health Organization, has expressed “grave concern over the tobacco industry’s manipulative tactics aimed at influencing healthcare providers”.
